Matt & David’s Fall Wedding at The Foundry by Herban Feast

We fell in love working with Matt and David planning and designing their September wedding at The Foundry by Herban Feast. Every detail of their wedding held a significant meaning to their relationship and we couldn’t have been more thrilled with how their day unfolded!

Mr. Puppy may have been just as excited as his parents were that day!

Passing by these whiskey barrels displayed at The Foundry I proposed the idea of creating custom letters and numbers that would fit inside each of the barrels paying tribute to Matt and David’s special day. Working with Pomp & Revel the barrels were transformed with custom wood letters and numbers all accented by greenery from Fena Flowers. One of our favorite details of the day! A great photo backdrop too!

After signing their engagement album guests entered the Press Room as songs from musicals Matt and David had seen together played. The room was all a glow with candlelight and warm uplighting against the lush ivory draping surrounding the room.

During their ceremony Matt and David honored the Scottish “Quaich Ceremony” or “Love Cup” with Glenlivet 21 Archive Scotch. The whiskey has been Matthew’s favorite since David introduced him to it.

After signing the marriage license and changing their Facebook relationship status together at the same time from “In A Relationship” to “Married,” Matt and David joined friends and family for cocktail hour.

A custom bar featured signature Manhattan’s, L’Ecole 41 Cabernet Sauvignon which they shared on their first date and Fruli Strawberry Beer which is a perennial favorite from the Seattle International Beerfest.

While friends and family enjoyed tray passed appetizers of shaved beef tenderloin tartlets, mac & cheese croquettes and grilled Tuscan chicken brochettes others were making the most of the custom Scotch and Chocolate pairing. Three pairings, served on a custom pairing board we design in collaboration with Pomp & Revel, featured pairings of Aberlour A’Bunadh + Dark Chocolate: Lagavulin 16 + Dark Chocolate with Caramel and the Glenlivet 21 Archive + Milk Chocolate with Almonds. Custom chocolates were all made by Kelly’s Chocolates. Definitely a crowd hit!

With the Press Room flipped from ceremony to dinner reception, loved ones were invited to find their seat for dinner via the wood escort board and matching wood table numbers. Tables covered in a cobalt panama linen were accented with lush greenery rounds highlighted with floating candles. Pinspots on each table and uplights gave the room it’s perfect lighting!

Combo dinner menus and place cards gave note to the meal they would enjoy ahead and let serves know each guests entrée choice.

Along with wedding cake (almond cake with an apricot filling and vanilla icing) a Sweet Bite Bar featuring frosted sugar cookie bars, a double chocolate brownie, apricot macarons, snickerdoodle cookies and raspberry cheesecake shooters were served!

As their first dance song “Falling Slowly” played, Matt and David danced on the clouds. The song, from Once, payed tribute to their first date. With the dance floor open guests danced the night away and occasionally broke away to play a game of shuffle board or corn hole. Shuffle board played a special role in their relationship as they played shuffle board together on one of their first dates at Capitol Cider.

BreeAnn, we could not have done any of this without your amazing help and support! Thank you for helping making this day so special. ~ Matthew and David
